Child Abuse in Munich and the Surrounding Area

Immigrating to a foreign country – for whatever reason – is in every case associated with new impressions and opportunities on the one hand, and deprivation on the other. The refugee influx of 2015 and the images of trembling children in makeshift camps should have made this clear to everyone – especially in a city as heavily affected as Munich. For children in particular, leaving behind their circle of friends and familiar surroundings in their home country is extremely difficult. All the more shocking, therefore, that parents and siblings force their underage children or siblings into prostitution – whether to improve their own financial situation or simply to have something to eat the next day. Such behaviour cannot be justified under any circumstances.

At the slightest suspicion of such activities, you should contact the police immediately and, if necessary, seek advice from our private detectives in Munich: +49 89 7007 4301.

Media Example of Child Prostitution at the German–Czech Border

As early as 2005, a Pro7 reporter investigated cases of child prostitution at the German–Czech border. In the Czech town of Cheb, women were selling their underage sisters for sex openly on the street. The clients were predominantly Germans who ruthlessly exploited the desperate situation of the minors for their perverted desires. A report to the police in Munich proved unsuccessful because – according to the police authority – the police in Cheb had not yet issued a statement. Around ten days later, the reporter was summoned to Cheb to give evidence and was questioned there like a criminal. His photographic and video recordings were ignored. A few days later, the reporter returned to Cheb and found that nothing had changed – minors were still being offered for paid sex.

Advertising Child Prostitution on Facebook

Today – ten years later – in the age of the internet and social media, it has become even easier for unscrupulous profiteers and or family members to abuse minors for prostitution. In late summer 2015, a reader discovered a link on Facebook among the comments on a report by a sports club. The link led to a Vietnamese website showing a photograph of a small Vietnamese girl, around ten years old, very sparsely dressed in only a T-shirt, taking a selfie with a smartphone. When the text on the Vietnamese website is translated, it very clearly offers sex.

The person who discovered the photo and link requested that Facebook remove the post. He also contacted his local police station (the incident occurred in North Rhine-Westphalia) and filed a criminal complaint. The result: Facebook did not respond at all. The responsible police commissioner stated that criminal prosecution was unlikely to be successful, since Facebook had already proved uncooperative in many such cases and, moreover, the website was operated from Vietnam, making cross-border investigations too complex. For international investigations and surveillance operations, our detectives in Munich are the competent point of contact, as we not only maintain professional contacts abroad but also employ multilingual investigators.

Abuse of Children Is Also a National Problem

Child abuse is, of course, not a crime exclusively associated with foreign countries or immigration. It is well known that there are also German parents or guardians who sexually abuse their children, produce films with them and or offer them for sexual acts. However, this tends to occur in a far more discreet manner and not in the commercialised style of South-East Asian child pornography rings. Children of German parents are “traded” within circles of relatives and acquaintances – and this has been happening for decades. Here too, far too many people simply look the other way.

If you suspect that children in your environment (family, neighbourhood, circle of acquaintances or colleagues) are being abused or offered for sex, do not only contact the local authorities, but also Kurtz Investigations Munich. Our enquiries provide evidence admissible in court against parents, pimps and clients, thereby bringing such abnormal activities to an end.
